前  言

　　遼沈戰役是20世紀中期中國人民解放戰爭中具有決定意義的三大戰役的第一個戰役。

　　1948年秋，東北解放戰爭經過三年艱苦奮戰，進入戰略決戰階段。 9月12日至11月2日在華北人民解放軍配合下，東北人民解放軍在遼寧省西部和沈陽、長春地區與國民黨軍進行規?？涨暗倪|沈決戰。遼沈戰役歷時52天，殲滅國民黨軍47萬余人，解放東北全境。遼沈戰役的勝利，使中國革命形勢發展到一個新的轉折點，從而加速了中國革命戰爭勝利的進程。

　　以毛澤東為首的中共中央和中央軍委制定的建立鞏固的東北根據地、舉行遼沈戰役的戰略決策等一系列方針，是取得遼沈戰役勝利的決定性因素。東北人民解放軍不斷發展壯大，英勇奮戰，為遼沈戰役勝利建立了卓越功勛。東北人民在中國共產黨領導下，開展土地改革、生產支前與愛國民主運動，為遼沈戰役勝利做出了重大貢獻。

　　為遼沈戰役勝利暨東北解放而英勇犧牲的革命先烈， 其功名同山河長在，與日月同輝。

　　INTRODUCTION

　　The  Liaoshen  Campaign  was  the  first of the three  great  campaigns  of  decisive significance in the Chinese People's War of  Liberation in the mid 20th century.

    In the autumn of 1948, the War of Liberation in the Northeast,after three years of  ha   rd fighting, had entered the stage of decisive engagement.Between September  12  and November 2 of the same year, the   Northeast   people's  Liberation   Army   conducted   a decisive engagement  on  an  unprecedented scale  with  Kuomintang  troops  in  the western   part   of   Liaoning   Province  and  in   Shenyang   and  changchun  areas  in  cooperation  with  Northern-China  People's Liberation  Army. The  Liaoshen Campaign  lasted 52  days, in  which  a  total  of  more  than  470000  enemy  troops  were  wiped out  and  the  whole  Northeast  was  thus  liberated. Due to the victory in the Liaoshen Campa   ign the Chinese revolution developed to a new turning  point, hence the course of  Chines  e revolutionary war was speeded up. 

　　A series of concepts  worked out  by the Central Committee and the Central Military Commission of   the  C  ommunist  Party  of  China (CPC)  headed  by Mao Zedong  to establish stable  base  areas  in Northeast  and conduct the Liaoshen  Campaign were  decisive factors for winning the campaign. The Northeast People's Liberation Army was growing steadily and fighting bravely,  having  performed  remarkable  feats  for  winning  the  Liaoshen Campaign.The people in the Northeast, under the eadership of the CPC , unfolded  land  reform , production  to  support  the   front  and  democratic  movement, making great contributions to the success of the Liaoshen Campaign.

　　The revolutionary martyrs who sacrificed their  lives  for the success of the Liaoshen Campaign are immortal.
